In this article, several indicators suggest that nearshore to Latin America and Mexico will continue to grow as an outsourcing alternative for US companies. Particularly for small and medium size companies that have moderate IT outsourcing needs.

North American companies are more frequently considering nearshore outsourcing as an alternative to the traditional offshore model. While companies in India and other places in Europe definitely offer top quality services, North American companies are now more confident that they can find great partners in Latin America as well. They know that there are companies in Latin America with the right infra-structure in place and that work under the highest quality standards. They are realizing that the cultural and geographic proximity as well as being able to work in similar time zones do make a difference when managing a project. Plus, they are aware that the workforce in some Latin American countries is highly skilled and business savvy (Sao Paulo, Brazil, for instance, has the largest Java community outside of the USA)
